On Sunday the 25th (Today) I attended a very Interesting Event known as the Worlds Naked Bike Ride. The Ride was aimed at bringing awareness of the cyclist community to the people of Melbourne.
Quick Note: Although there were many Photos and Video’s taken during the day, this Blog will be more based on the actual experience that was had rather then showing pictures of naked people. Thank you.
As I entered the Carlton Gardens in the City of Melbourne on a beautiful warm Summers Day, there were quite a few people in a section barracked with Hazard Tape and a small group of spectates watching outside.
As I entered the Tapped Area, there were quite a few things including some Tables set up with all sorts of Trinkets and things for sale as well as a Face Painting/ Body Painting section for people to either get a Written Message or some sort of Icon Drawn onto them.
However, this was a little late for me as I already did a Home Brew Job using some Natural type Makeup purchased a few days prior to the Big Day.
As the day moved on a real crowd started to slowly emerge as more and more people joined in as well as more and more Bikes starting to stack up.
After a while and quite a bit of mingling a Main Organizer got out the front with his Megaphone telling us about the Event, what we were to expect as well as general safety precautions and the rest.
And as people got in the groove of things, slowly and surly most started to strip bare. But the most interesting part was the fact that the Face Painters would write or draw anywhere and everywhere you requested them too. Yes even on those sensitive parts you would not expect.
But at the ripe time of 2pm, the Ride had officially Begun….
And that is where the Bare-ness really Begun.
Now although I am not able to share too many other pictures thanks to the Nuddie Effect. I will try my best at explaining the Ride instead.
Basically almost everyone had stripped right down except for a handful including Huh Hum…. Me!
We Rode through the streets of Melbourne with quite a reaction from many, many spectators. Although 99% of the time were quite Positive, there were those few little bad eggs that through in their 10 cents.
Basically the drill was simple. Follow the main Guy who gave us directions and stick as close together as possible.
